It’s been a while since I threw myself down the Azathioprine rabbit hole, so perhaps it’s time for a quick recap of the ‘fall’ so far.
In a nutshell: finally got a prescription, acted like an ostrich, started meds, felt like shit, got used to meds, bloods went loopy, got taken off meds, 3 weeks of cold turkey, back on meds. Makes my head spin just thinking about it. Makes my head spin just thinking about it.
Follow my journey into a Lupus-filled sort of Wonderland:
- Shiny new drugs
- Living like an ostrich
- Day 1: down the rabbit hole
- Day 3: looking like death
- Day 7: troublesome hormones and tardy tooth fairies
- Day 10: feeling bleugh
- Day 20: light at the end of the tunnel
- Day 60: it was all going so well
- Day 94: what do you mean I’m abnormal?
- Day 96: well, that’s that then
- Day 135: Hey ho, back to Square One we go
- Day 274: hibernation here we come
I’ve been on Imuran (Azathioprine) for a while now, the blood an urine tests are annoying an it’s kinda turned me into a bit of a germaphobe… but otherwise been solid. Sucks it hasn’t agreed with you, I’m always nervous getting my numbers hoping they haven’t dropped. Really don’t wanna start over with a new med.
Hope this round goes better or you get something that does.
Also I completely agree on the numbers lie (in one of the posts). Doc, I’m feeling a lot more achy and tired than usual… It feels like a flare. “well your numbers are fine… get more rest, no changes to meds” I’m already sleeping 10 hours minimum -_- “maybe you have sleep apnea, consider a sleep study” but why has it never… O never mind. It’s so weird it just cleared up a couple weeks later, apparently cured sleep apnea -_-

Aaddron, thanks for taking the time to read my blog and leave a comment! Fingers crossed the drugs kick in properly at some point. I’m way better than I was last year though, so that’s something! 🙂 x
